Oinomikado Nobumune (大炊御門信宗)

Nobumune OINOMIKADO (1391-after 1453) was Kugyo during the Muromachi period. He served the two generations of Emperor Shoko (the 101st) and Emperor Gohanazono (the 102nd) and was promoted to Juichii (Junior 1st Rank), Naidaijin (minister of the center). His father was Naidaijin Muneuji OINOMIKADO. His adopted children were Udaijin (minister of the right) Nobukazu OINOMIKADO (who was the child of Sanekazu SANJO) and FUJIWARA no Nobuko (who was the daughter of FUJIWARA no Takanaga and also the consort of the Emperor Gohanazono as well as the real mother of the Emperor Gotsuchimikado).

In 1418, he became Jusanmi (Junior 3rd Rank) and was raised to Kugyo. He became Mutsu-no-Gonnokami (supernumerary chief of Mutsu-no-kuni) in 1419. He became Shosanmi (Senior 3rd Rank) Chunagon (vice-councilor of state) in 1421. He was appointed to Junii (Junior 2nd Rank) Dainagon in 1425. In 1429, he transferred to Ukone no daisho (Major Captain of the Right Division of Inner Palace Guards) and then transferred to Sakone no daisho (Major Captain of the Left Division of Inner Palace Guards). Though he promoted to Shonii (Senior 2nd Rank) in 1432, he resigned Sakone no daisho (Major Captain of the Left Division of Inner Palace Guards). He became Naidaijin that year. He resigned Naidaijin the next year. He became Juichii (Junior 1st Rank) in 1442. He entered into the priesthood in 1453 and called himself Gozuikeiin.
